Target Audience

This activity is intended for respiratory therapists, respiratory therapy students and all other healthcare practitioners seeking to have a better understanding of pulmonary specific concepts, disease process and therapeutic standards.

Overview

This Fireside Chat, between two highly respected and veteran RTs leaders, will explore the factors driving the continued transition of the U.S. health care system to a value-based payment methodology, and the important role RTs can play in promoting and delivering high quality, safe, and evidenced-based respiratory care.

Educational Objectives

Upon completion of this activity learners should be able to:

(1)    Define the concept of value-based care, and the responsibilities RTs must assume to ensure our continued role in the health care hierarchy;
(2)    Describe ways that RTs can demonstrate our commitment to the basic tenants of value-based care; and
(3)    Discuss the skills and competencies required to achieve high quality, timely, safe, and effective value-based respiratory health care outcomes. 

Accreditation Statement

This program has been approved for 1.0 contact hour Continuing Respiratory Care Education (CRCE) credit by the American Association for Respiratory Care, 9425 N. MacArthur Blvd. Suite 100 Irving TX 75063.

Credit Designation Statement

The AARC designates this enduring material for a maximum of 1.0 CRCE.
